Graduation doesn’t make me nervous. I think I am more excited about graduating than nervous because I didn’t think I would make it this far graduation and show the people that didn’t believe in me that I made it this far without their help and also I can’t wait to see my family smile when they see me graduate. The people who did not believe in me motivated me to get all my work done. After graduation my plan is to go to Porterville College for two years then transfer to Bakersfield College for another two years. I will graduate with a degree. I was going to take classes that had to do with social work but I have changed my mind. I am now interested in becoming a 911 dispatch person. It caught my attention because it's still a way to help people in need. Some of the college courses for social work will help in that career. The reason why I think 911 dispatch got my attention is when I was watching a movie called “The Call”. It looked like it's something I could do because i've been taking typing class and I want to be there to talk people through their emergency.
This will not be easy but i need to stay focused in order to finish college. I still need to finish government, math, and Aplus in order to graduate. The next thing I need to do is my exit interview. I am a little nervous about presenting because I never have had to present in front of people. I worked hard on my senior website and exit interview power point. I feel that they are a good example of the work I can do. I am looking forward to finishing up my math class because I've been working on math for the past 4 years. I’m also looking forward to graduating because I can start on the path to becoming who I want to be in life. I am grateful for the teachers I had in Lindsay High School, especially my Special Education Teachers. Mrs. Ismael and Mr. Arroyo have helped me get through some of my problems and made me make better/good decisions and always will remind me to stay after school so, I wouldn’t fall behind in any of my classes. Completing my night school classes is another important part to my graduation plan. In order to finish this year and graduate, I have to come to Spring Intervention to stay on pace.

My Winter Break was good this year. I went out of town to visit family for two weeks. I traveled up north with my Tia and family. The best part of the trip was that I got to see my cousins graveside at the cemetery and gave him flowers. I stayed there for a while and wrote him a letter. My family and I went to the mountains and played in the snow. What I didn’t like about my vacation was that I saw a picture of my Father’s grave site and it was messy and dirty, no one has been taking care of it. It was hard to say goodbye to my aunt on my dad's side and seeing her cry when my brother and I left.
I spent New Year’s Eve at my Grandma’s house in Strathmore. My night was great because I got to spend it with my boyfriend and family. After we played some games and I got to meet my other aunt from my dad side and I got to spend time with her. What I didn’t like about my New Year's Eve was that my dad and cousin weren’t there to spend the holidays with us.
Now that I am back in school, I have been reflecting back on my first semester. There are two things that I regret from my first semester, first is that I did not stay after school and finish my online classes. Second, I regret that I didn’t ask for a lot of help when I needed it.
My last semester has hit me because it went by fast and it's almost time for graduation. I'm a little nervous to find out if I am graduating or not and that scares me. I need to accomplish a few things this semester, finishing math online and night school. If I do this I will be able to graduate and walk across the stage with my classmates.
My college applications are going okay because I have only filled out one college application, Porterville College. I haven’t thought of going to another college because I don’t want to go that far away from my family. I have done a job shadow and met with a woman that works in a program that I am interested in. This semester I will need to show up to night school and to school everyday. I can not miss a day or be tardy for any classes. I am coming to the end of my Senior Year and the beginning of my college life. Time to get ready for my future.
